Grant Bishop

B. Grant Bishop, MD - Dermatologist

I love being a physician, if I have done nothing else in my 40 years of being a dermatologist than to save thousands of young people with acne from being scarred for the rest of their lives, it will have been well worth the time.

There is an excitement that comes with me when going to work. It is about the challenge to not only diagnose a difficult disease but the satisfaction in treating it. There is a peace that comes in knowing I can not only help ameliorate physical suffering but lighten emotional stress.

I have made lifelong friends and have learned to look at myself from the critical eyes of patients. I have cried with them, laughed with them, talked philosophy, religion, and politics with them. I have learned as much from the children I have seen as I have from the educated.

Most of the medicine I currently practice today was not known when I began forty years ago. Medicine opens more doors than most other occupations—continuing education, community service, charitable giving, teaching, research, and leadership. But most importantly those in medicine who catch the spirit, give balm to the suffering and peace to the dying, and in return live a satisfying life.

Dr. Peterson has 25 years of experience as a Board Certified Dermatologist in Utah and practiced in southern California for six years prior to his return to Utah. He serves as Program Director for Aspen Dermatology Residency Program, an Opti-West Consortium Affiliate.
